Description

This parcel would be a great step up from beginner rough opal. Every piece in the parcel has colour of various grades, some better than others. We call this type of rough opal “potch and colour”. It is not high grade rough, but it will give you plenty of chances of cutting stones with colour. Please watch the video that is the main description of the parcel! You will receive all stones displayed in the video.

Please notice that we can not guarantee that you will cut stones from any of our rough parcels because we do not know your level of cutting skills nor your equipment. We describe the material based on our experience on different grades of rough opal. However, rough opal is always a gamble. Some of the pieces in the parcel may be rubbed, tumbled or sawn to expose colour.

Please note

The pictures are close-up photos of the opal to show detail. Therefore, the stone may look bigger than it actually is. Please refer to the size specification to get an accurate understanding of the size. The stones are measured and weighed manually, therefore please allow reasonable margin of error. The ruler displayed on pictures of rough opal is in mm/cm.

We aim at taking as accurate pictures as possible. Opal colours vary depending on the direction and level of the light. We take pictures from several angles to show the colours as accurately as possible. The camera often pics up certain colours, such as green and blue, more than other colours. Please see the video for more detailed view of the stone and the colour pattern.

All our opals are solid Australian opals hand-cut by us. We do not sell any treated, doublet, triplet or artificial opals.
